Sweet Medicine - Recently I read an article about how the wild horses in Nevada will be killed, because there aren't enough people that can adopt them. The idea of this breaks my heart. This is the second painting of a wild horse that I painted this year, with the mane so long and beautiful...so wild and gentle....as I looked in the eyes of this horse, I thought it shared such sweet medicine with all of us. I had to paint a wild horse, with the mane so long and beautiful...so wild and gentle....and a friend reminded me of Pegasus, and I thought of how the Spirit of Pegasus must be with them...so this wild one from Nevada is called Pegasus. Wild One - Again, this painting was inspired by the wild horses in Nevada. I saw a picture of the head of this horse, and I started remembering some of the stories I heard while I lived on the rez...how important they were; they were a gift from Spirit.
