A Summer's Dream - I live in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, yet my gaze often rests on this site across the street from me. At the turn of the century, a windmill was brought up from Cortez. CO and installed at the dairy across the street. This beautiful tree has grown around it, protected it, and seems to have become part of it. It is the home to bats, deer and fox, and it never ceases to amaze me. Unframed, this is $225

Going With The Flow - This is of a house my boyfriend stumbled upon in Lake City, CO. As I looked at it, I kept thinking about how we will build these houses to last forever, but they don't. They are as impermanent as everthing else, and instead of lasting, they start taking on the curves and valleys of its surroundings. This painting is on 22X30 Arches Paper, and is a mixed media painting. Without a frame, this sells for $775

A Room With A View - This is a painting that brings back a lot of fond memories for me. I did my first art festival in Lake City. I took three paintings, none of which were framed, and I didn't have any prints. Luckily, I was also selling soap at the time....but I was pretty nervous. I looked up at the building across the street, and I noticed these two dogs hanging out in the window watching all of us. They made me laugh, made me smile, and helped me relax...I have wanted to paint both of these Lake City paintings for two years, but for some reason they weren't ready to be painted until now. This painting sold.

Memories - There is a pueblo (ruin) on the border of western Colorado and Utah that I absolutely love to go to. Rarely are there people out there. There are no tours, no fees; just the Spirit of the land to mingle with. People say that the Anasazi abandoned all of their homes. I don't believe that. I believe they lived there for a reason, and they left for a reason. If are open to it, you will feel their Spirits protecting the land....This is mixed media on Arches Paper and unframed it sells for $500.

Anasazi Windows - I painted this about six months after visiting Hovenweep, which is on the Utah border. I sat there looking throught that window, which had an Eagle's Nest nestled into it, and I felt like the Spirit's of the people that once lived there were looking through it too. It was a magical moment. This is oil pastel on Arches Paper and is 12X16. It sells for $200.

Taos Paintings
Here are some paintings that I have done for the Taos Arts Festival. I swore that I would never paint the church in Rancho de Taos, because it has been painted and photographed by everyone�Georgia O'Keeffe, Marsden Hartley, Ansel Adams and Paul Strand to name a few. When I took Bill there, so he could photograph it, I got sucked in by the lines, those irresistibly seductive curves. The front of the church is like most adobe churches, but the back! The back is phenomenal�the architecture so unique, and the way it captures the New Mexico sun and shadows�Before I knew it, I was sitting down and working away with all of the other artists. I took a bit more of a radical point of view for the paintings, so I am including some pics for you to see what I was looking at!

Adobe Sun - Everywhere you go you into Taos, the colors seem so sharp, contrasted, bold. I love the mixture of colors against an adobe building, and the colors of the adobe buildings against the blue sky. They all seem to blend into one another.This is an oil pastel painting on Arches Paper and measures 14X20. It is $375.

Big Sur - Ten years ago I took this magical trip up the Highway 1 in California. I went with my parents as a kid, but sometimes the best trips are when you get to do a redo several years later. I stopped at this spot outside of Big Sur, and everything about it seemed mystical...the fog...the light...the clouds...the foilage. Everything was so rich and beautiful. I kept thinking how wonderful it would be to live in that little cabin.... This is a Mixed Media painting Arches Paper. It is 12X14 and is $200.

Moab Paintings
This is a painting of the Thunderbeings dancing over Moab. I was on my way to a show in Moab, Utah when storms were moving in...the sky was dark, yet there was sunshine making its way to the red rocks, and the sky seemed on fire above the clouds. This is a Mixed Media painting on canvas and is $450.

If you ever get the chance to go to Negro Bill's Canyon (not my name) in Moab, Utah, you have to go. It is one of the most beautiful hikes you can do in the middle of the desert. It is lush, green, filled with water and silent. It is magic and miracles everywhere you look. At the very end of the hike is a box canyon, and there is an arch where you can see the blue, blue sky against the red rocks. There also is a small hole within the rock where a natural spring flows through forming a crystal clear pond. Everything about this space is rebirth...the Spirit of this canyon is about renewal, rebirth...the changing of the seasons and how something amazing can happen even when it seems like there is no possibility of any life. This is a mixed media painting (oil pastels and acrylic) on Arches Paper. Framed and unframed it is 18X24 inches. This is a mixed media painting on Arches Paper and the unframed cost is $500.

Corona's Spirit - I see faces in the rocks, and I saw this face at Corona Arch in Moab. The arch was her hair, and the indentations in the rock were her eyes. She is a Spirit there that is filled with such love and kindness. This is an oil pastel painting on Arches Paper that measures 22X30. It is $775.

Window's Spirits - This is a painting of the two faces I saw at Window's Arch in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. I saw this beautiful Native American Elder and below him I saw a Native woman with a shawl...it was as if she was opening it to him. This is a mixed media painting on Arches Paper and measures 22X30. Other Places
This is a painting I did of one of Sandro's spectacular photos with his permission of course. I didn't do it justice at all. I loved the boat. It reminded me of my childhood on the beach and watching the fisherman come back in. I thought about all the stories this boat must hold, and how the sand is giving it a place of rest while a storm brews out at sea. Unframed this is $250

I used to live on the Pine Ridge Reservation, and one of my most favorite things about the plains besides listening to the grass blow in the wind, are all of the sunflowers that grow in the fields.
